THREE DAYS GRACE "self titled" Vinyl Metallic Colored

Today we have a vinyl to share and that would be alternative metal rock band Three Days Grace's self titled debut album pressed in the metallic color variant. I picked this beauty up at a FYE right outside of Philadelphia. It is pressed in 150g of metallic colored vinyl and really does sound great. Normally I find that a lot of colored vinyl pressed is 140g and black vinyl is 180g. I find that without a slip mat the lighter records won't always play as good because they tend to skip or bounce grooves on the first song on each side of the record. Well lets get back to the album. In the sleeve you get the vinyl with a two sided lyric sheet that also is the inner sleeve for the vinyl. This is their first album and I bet a lot of you remember this album or at least most of the songs by heart and I will share one with you after we look at the vinyl and its packaging. These guys were just a trio at the time of this debut. Three Days Grace inked the deal with Jive Records before this album sending them a song from their demo tape titled "I Hate Everything About You". We all remember that track and if you don't....well go gain that knowledge. Jive Records was a label under RCA Records but unfortunately in 2011 they ceased operations, but Three Days Grace were moved to the RCA label itself and are still signed with them today. I imagine most of you know but if you didn't, the original lead vocalist, Adam Gontier left the band in 2013. He is now the front man of Saint Asonia, check them out too. He was replaced by the bassist's brother, Matt Walst from My Darkest Days. Well lets take a look at this album on vinyl and then listen to a goodie from the tracklist!

Hope you all enjoyed this vinyl today!

CAN'T SWIM

Today we have a fairly new up and coming rock band and they go by Can't Swim from Keansburg, NJ. They formed in 2015 and literally got signed to Pure Noise Records before their first show in late 2015. A few months later these guys rolled out their debut EP, "Death Deserves A Name" through Pure Noise in February of 2016. So after some singles and an EP came an album this year, "Fail You Again" and it literally came out a couple days ago. It is available on Vinyl as well with some pretty color variants too! Cant Swim have sounds of aggression and calmness through their songs and they really sound great. Basically their whole new album is worth a listen and I will share a track from it along with an earlier release first. Lets take a listen!

ATREYU "Long Live" Vinyl (Hot Topic Exclusive)

Its Monday so that mean we look at another vinyl. Today the album on vinyl is Atreyu's sixth studio album, Long Live pressed in gorgeous red with black smoke or swirl. This pressing was exclusive to Hot Topic and I lucked out when I found this. Hot topic was discontinuing their vinyl in the stores and were selling this album for 5 dollars! I picked up a few albums at this Hot Topic in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am not sure how limited this pressing is but it can be bought online for under 15 bucks, Discogs usually has the deals and basically any vinyl you want. This album was released through Spinefarm Records and Search and Destroy Records on September 18, 2015. It charted high in many locations and categories such as a few of the Billboards charts. This vinyl comes in a gatefold sleeve with the beautiful vinyl, photos/lyrics sheet, and a download card of the full album. Well lets take a look and then we will listen to a track from the album!

BEING AS AN OCEAN

Today we have an American Hardcore band, Being As An Ocean. These guys deliver sounds of Melodic/ Post Hardcore and even touch on Spoken Word, especially on their first album from 2012, "Dear G-D..". Since their formation in 2011 Being As An Ocean have released 3 albums all with Invogue Records including a couple singles. A fourth album will be arriving this year titled "Waiting For Morning To Come" and it releases June 9, 2017, through Equal Vision Records. If you like bands with them clean and scream sounds then give these guys a listen. I will share two great tracks from them. And for Vinyl fans, Being As An Ocean has a vast assortment of eye candy pressings to see and purchase, there are even cassettes out there. Well lets dig into a few tracks from Being As An Ocean including their newest single from 2016.

AVENGED SEVENFOLD "self titled" Vinyl

Today is a vinyl day, and on vinyl we have Avenged Sevenfold's self titled album from 2007. This is a 2016 pressing from FYE packaged with 2 LPs in a gatefold jacket with a download card. This pressing is also out of 500 copies with the nice white with black splatter. There are many hits on this album that we may all know like "Critical Acclaim", "Dear God", "Almost Easy", and "A Little Piece of Heaven". Although this album does have a few slower rock songs on it, it is a little heavier than previous releases. This also the last album before the death of their drummer, James"The Rev" Sullivan in 2009. Their next album, "Nightmare" was dedicated to him and did include some of his vocals as well. Well lets check out this double LP and then a song from the album.

KAONASHI

Today we have Kaonashi, a progressive hardcore metal band out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Currently on tour with Bungler and 'Sabella and tonight you can catch these guys in Las Vegas at the Chateau Le Punk. Since forming in 2012 three EPs have been delivered from Kaonashi, with the latest, "Never Home" being a split with 'Sabella (definitely listen to both halves of this gem). Such a high energy band bringing great tracks to the table with some experimental stuff thrown in as well. 'SABELLA

Today, we have an incredible metal band from Elmira, NY and they go by 'Sabella. These guys are much more than a metal band, they deliver hints of punk, rap, and grunge in their music. Just a few days ago, 'Sabella hit the road with Bungler, Kaonashi, and others for their first U.S. tour. In 2016 these guys released a split EP titled "Never Home" with Kaonashi. I will be sure to drop a track on those ears from this split. "Perennial" and "The Funeral" are the titles of their first two EPs from a few years back. 'Sabella is a personal favorite of mine and maybe you will dig too. Sabella consists of some of the most hungry hard charging hyenas out there. There is hardly a time these guys aren't out playing a show. And to finish things off before we get to those tunes, today Sabella went ahead and dropped some new material for us to pick up. The split track song is titled "Closed/Doors". If you like these guys go ahead and share it up, tell a friend, or even bring it up at the dinner table. Enjoy!

KNOCKED LOOSE

Today we have Knocked Loose, a hardcore punk/ metal band from Oldham County, Kentucky. Forming in 2013 these guys have been coming up fast having recently signed with Pure Noise Records. In 2013, Knocked Loose released the "Pop Culture" EP with Little Heart Records. Then a split EP in 2015 with Damaged Goods on No Luck Records. And then comes 2016 when the album, "Laugh Tracks" came out through Pure Noise delivering so many great tracks like Oblivions Peak, Deadringer, The Rain, and Counting Worms. And if you can handle a breakdown or two these guys impress. And for my vinyl lovers, about everything they have done is on vinyl and many coor variants too. Here are a few goodies from Knocked Loose.

DEFTONES "Diamond Eyes" Vinyl

Here we are again at another Monday, meaning another vinyl. Today we have a Deftones vinyl, Diamond Eyes. This is their sixth album and was released back in 2010. It was the first album without bassist, Chi Cheng, who at the time was in a coma from a car crash since 2008. Chi unfortunately passed away in 2013 from heart failure. Quicksand bassist Sergio Vega filled in for this Diamond Eyes album along with the rest of their albums since. This album is also Deftones's first album with Reprise Records since transferring from Maverick Records founded by Madonna! Maverick Records is more for just management today, not records. And a fun fact about Reprise Records would be who the founder is, Johnny Cash (1960). This album was named "Rock Album Of The Year" by the Itunes store. This 11 track album definitely has some songs on it that will stick in your head with some songs soft and other touching on their metal side. This is pressed on white 140g vinyl and sounds great with the needle dropped. Not exactly sure on how many have been pressed on white, but it isn't a hard one to get at a great price.
