THE BLUE STONES

Today's band is The Blue Stones, who deliver a indie, rock, blues, and pop vibe. The duo is from Ontario, Canada but tours well outside of Canada. I would relate The Blue Stones to groups such as Kings Of Leon, My Morning Jacket, The Black Keys, and even Jack White. Forming around 2010 These guys have 2 albums and an EP(limited edition contains 15 songs). Here are a few songs to introduce you to this band.

THE WHITE NOISE

Today we have an up and coming melodic hardcore band THE WHITE NOISE. With only an EP released so far these guys have some good momentum, They signed to Fearless Records basically right after the formation of The White Noise. David Southern created The White Noise from his original band Set The Sun, After Set The Sun split, David reformed with new musicians and after making music with them, they realized that the music they were creating was not the same as Set The Sun, leading to the name change in late 2014 to The White Noise. I hope you all enjoy this band. I will share 2 songs from their 2016 EP, "Aren't You Glad?"

SUPERHEAVEN

Today we have a band from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. With a great rock sound, even grungy at times we have Superheaven. They have released two studio albums, "Jar" (2013) and "Ours Is Crome" (2015). Forming in 2008, Superheaven used to go by the band name "Daylight", but because of legal issues and what not, the band became Superheaven. Along with 2 albums these guys also have 3 EPs full of great stuff to keep your ears busy. In Spring of this year Superheaven did, however announce a hiatus for the group. Really hoping this isn't it for such a great band. Here is a few songs to get you introduced to Superheaven.

Superheaven - I've Been Bored

Superheaven - In On It

You can find "Jar" and "Ours is Chrome" on vinyl through these guys

MUDHONEY

Today we have Mudhoney, a grunge band from the late 80s that still play today. The band consists of 4 members, Mark Arm (Green River), Steve Turner (Green River), Dan Peters (Screaming Trees, Nirvana), and Guy Madison. Dan Peters was the drummer in Nirvana replaced by Dave Grohl. Even though Mudhoney has a long running career spanning 10 albums, 6 with Sub-Pop out of Seattle, they never did receive a huge fan base or commercial success. This is a part of the reason I picked Mudhoney, along with a little suggestion from my friend Nick Bollock (Sabella). Mudhoney's most recent album is "Vanishing Point" (2013 Sub Pop Records), which kind of gives me a "Pixies" feel.

Mudhoney - Touch Me I'm Sick (1988)

And here is one 25 years later from the "Vanishing Point" album.

Mudhoney - Chardonnay

JEZ DIOR

Today we have Jez Dior, a hip-hop artist based out of Los Angeles.
He is also the son of Steve Dior, guitarist for the Sex Pistols.
Jez Dior didnt really grow up with a father due to that fame and other things.  A definite up 'n coming artist at 24 years of age now with a past that created him to drive harder and dig deeper. He has done music with artists like G-Eazy and producers like Wes Period. You might catch some drums and guitar blended in with the beat once in awhile. He has a very promising career ahead of him, so lets help him out and share the music!

Jez Dior - Old No. 7 ft G-Eazy

And this jewel is from his newest EP, "Youthanasia".

Jez Dior - Lucky Enough

Hope you enjoyed this one and keep your day on play!

BLINK 182 Vinyl

Here we are again back to another Monday, meaning another vinyl for you guys to check out.
It is "Blink 182" with their "Neighborhoods" album from 2011.

There are a handful of goodies on this album to listen too. Aside from being the 6th studio album by Blink 182 it also was the first album of new material in 8 years because in 2003 Blink 182 released their self titled album, and by 2005 the trio decided to go on an indefinite hiatus.
Also this album happens to be Tom Delonge's last album with the band before leaving in 2015. Since then he has been replaced by Matt Skiba (Alkaline Trio). Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Matt Skiba recently released Blink 182's  new album, "California" this year. (also on vinyl)

This album cover contains some of the most artwork a Blink 182 album
has ever had, great job Mike Giant!!!!

There have been a few colored vinyl variations pressed like white, pink, blue, clear w/black splatter, and this 180g black pressing. A great place to find all these colors, info, and to purchase is Discogs.

Here is a couple songs from "Neighborhoods".

Just recently Saintseneca released their "Mallwalker EP", basically a 5 song Christmas-like ep that has been 5 years in the making. +44 Vinyl

Another Monday another vinyl.
The band today is +44, a punk pop band formed in Los Angeles in 2005.
The founders of this band happen to be Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker.
When Blink 182 broke up in 2005, Hoppus and Barker created +44. The name of the band refers to the dialing code of the UK, where Hoppus and Barker discussed the band the first time. This album is titled "When Your Heart Stops Beating". This album contains plenty of good tracks worth a listen like, Weatherman, Baby Come On, and one of my favorites, Little Death.

There were plans of another album from +44,
but in 2008 the band went on a hiatus due the reformation of Blink 182.
Mark and Travis even bought their own studio to record in for +44. Hopefully one day we get to see another release in the near future.

+44 - Little Death

Hope you all enjoy and have a great day
Remember to suggest new music for the rest of the week

Foo Fighters Vinyl

Welcome to Around the Groove!!

Today we have an incredible band with a legendary backround, FOO FIGHTERS!!. The album is Sonic Highways, their eighth studio album. "Sonic Highways" is much more than just an album by the Foo Fighters. In the making of this 8 track album, Dave Grohl traveled to 8 different cities to meet with musicians, producers, and others to get a sense of the musical history surrounding these cities ( Seattle, NYC, Nashville, Chicago, to name a few). Then, the Foo Fighters went on to record one song in each of the 8 cities featuring artists that had ties with those cities and their musical history. Here is bring you, Sonic Highways on vinyl!!!!
(You can see in the album cover is a mix of the cities)

(Photographers for this album include Ringo Starr and Brantley Gutierrez)

A list of featured artists on Sonic Highways by track name
  1. "Something From Nothing" featuring Rick Nielsen (Cheap Trick)
  2. "The Feast and the Famine" featuring Peter Stahl & Skeeter Thomson (Scream)
  3. "Congregation" featuring Zac Brown (Zac Brown Band)
  4. "What Did I Do?/ God as My Witness" featuring Gary Clark Jr.
  5. "Outside" featuring Joe Walsh
  6. "In the Clear" featuring the Preservation Hall Jazz Band
  7. "Subterranean" featuring Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie)
  8. "I am a River" featuring Tony Visconti (David Bowie producer) and Kristeen Young

"Sonic Highways" was also an HBO documentary with (yes you guessed it), 8 episodes that captured the process Foo Fighters went through creating music history with music history.

And I will leave you a song to listen too from Sonic Highways.
"SOMETHING FROM NOTHING"
